Lesson Plans: Oct. 23rd – 27th
Monday – Students work on a Vocabulary Crossword & Word search covering:
dissolve, superposition, igneous rock, bedrock, tectonic plate, geology, deposition (sedimentary), crystal, sediment, Earth, radioactivity, rock layer, chemical reaction, mantle, granite, boulder, crust, pressure, gravity, canyon, melt, cycle, earth materials, geosphere, erosion, lithosphere, mineral, limestone, lava, rock cycle, chemical weathering, carbon cycle, weathering (physical), volcanic dome, ancient, sedimentary rock, magma, compression, weathering, dissolve, river, exfoliation
Tuesday – We will take a deeper look at Plate Tectonics and how these immense slabs are always in motion. Students will learn how these very slow movements build and rebuild the face of the Earth.
Wednesday – Early release. We will have a quick review of all that we have covered so far in this unit, and follow it up with a Gimkit review game.
Thursday – We will work on a Lab Exploration: Dance of the Plates on Discovery.
Friday – Will begin looking at why, where, and how Earthquakes occur.
